It is not acceptable to lick your lips, especially when they are dry. Licking the lips may seem like a fast solution, but it actually exacerbates the dryness. How? Because enzymes in saliva help digest food, but they can irritate the mouth and throat if they are released in excess.
Pro Tip: Lip balms should have substances that moisturize and repair the lips.
There is a big difference in lip balms that are just for shine and lip balms that really moisturizes. . Some products need to be used constantly and might actually make your lips drier in the long run. Tip # 2––Utilize a medicinal balm for your cold sore or blister.

Mix all of the ingredients together in a small bowl until a paste forms. Using your fingertips, rub a small amount into your lips and massage them gently for a minute or two to get rid of any dead skin cells. Remove the scrub with warm water. You can seal in and moisturize using your trusted lip balm. Any remaining honey sugar scrub should be stored in a small glass jar with a tight-fitting lid. Keep it in your refrigerator and it will last for a long time.
Tip #7–– DIY Aloe Gel
Aloe vera is the plant of the town when it comes to the skin care world. The gel within an aloe vera leaf works wonders on dry, chapped lips. There are widely available Aloe Vera gels in drugstores nowadays to keep your skin care routine hydrated. If you haven’t seen one in your local area, try going to a Korean beauty store, most certainly they have an aloe vera gel. Spread the gel evenly around your lips and massage for a minute. Do this as often as needed until your symptoms improve.
Tip #8–– Milk and Rose Petals
Weird combo? Haven’t heard of one? Well, this might heal your broken lips in an instant!
Rose petals can be added to milk cream to create a soothing balm for dry lips. Soak a dozen rose petals in a few tablespoons of milk cream for approximately three hours. The rose petals and cream are ground into a thick paste, which is then applied to the lips with your fingertips. Leave the paste on your lips for approximately ten minutes before removing carefully. You may continue this process up to three times each day, using your preferred homemade lip balm in between applications.
Cream has natural animal fats that can help repair cracked lips, despite drying up from your morning saliva. Just dab a finger in the cream and apply gentle, circular motions to your lips several times a day.
